The Freshmen opened the season with the defending Northeast ISD champion Reagan Rattlers and suffered a 45-12 loss. The team opened the game with a forty yard pass from Xavier Salas-Rosas to wide receiver/safety Jaheim Lard. Followed by solid running from backs Ernie Solis, Tyreik Tolefree, and Alyzha Williams, the bears were able to cap off the 75 yard opening drive with a 12 yard touchdown pass from Salas-Rosas to tight end AJ Osteguin putting the bears up 6-0. This would be the bears only TD of the quarter. Though the defense played well, a few big plays by the Reagan defense and special teams put the bears at a 22-6 deficit going into the half. The bears responded strong with an 85 yard Kickoff Return for a touchdown by freshmen wide receiver/corner back Gavin Ramos which cut the Reagan lead to 10. Reagan continued to dominate in special teams and won the battle of field position which put the bears defense in a tough spot. The Final Score was 45-12 Reagan.

The Freshmen look to respond next week when they take on the Warren Warriors at Warren high school.
